Community Navigator
Beginning November 3, PLSJ will launch a new program in partnership with Franciscan University of Steubenville and the Jefferson County Resource Network. A social work intern from Franciscan will help patrons identify and connect with local services related to housing, food access, healthcare, employment, transportation, and other needs.
A Community Navigator is a social work intern who meets with visitors to identify needs and connect them with services. This is not a counseling session.
- Find Resources & Information: Case-by-case assistance connecting people with local options for housing, food, health care, work, education, and benefits.
- Guidance & Advocacy: Light-touch case management to explore options, navigate services, and work through barriers.
- Free computer and Wi-Fi access, plus free printing, copying, and faxing for documents needed to connect with resources.
